Information on the disposal of waste electrical equipment
Under the German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG) we are obliged to inform you of the following:
1. Separate collection of waste equipment
Electrical and electronic equipment that has become waste is referred to as waste equipment. Owners of waste equipment must dispose of it separately from unsorted municipal waste. In particular, waste equipment does not belong in household waste.
2. Batteries, rechargeable batteries and lamps
Owners of waste equipment must separate waste batteries and accumulators that are not enclosed in the equipment, as well as lamps that can be removed without being destroyed, from the equipment before handing it in at a collection point (for example the batteries of the remote control).
3. Return options
Owners of waste equipment from private households can return it free of charge at the collection points of the public waste management authorities (municipal recycling centres) and at take-back points set up by manufacturers and distributors. A directory of collection and take-back points is available at https://www.ear-system.de/ear-verzeichnis/sammel-und-ruecknahmestellen.
Take-back by us: When you buy a new appliance, we take back an old appliance of the same type that essentially fulfils the same functions free of charge. During checkout we ask you in the cart whether you would like to return an old appliance. For freight deliveries we arrange collection at the delivery address with you; otherwise we arrange the return. You can reach us at office@jacobwarm.com or +49 221 29293710.
4. Air conditioners and heat pumps containing refrigerant
Air conditioners and heat pumps contain fluorinated greenhouse gases as refrigerant. Dismantling and recovery of the refrigerant may only be carried out by a certified specialist company. Please do not open the refrigerant circuit yourself.
5. Deletion of personal data
Waste equipment may contain personal data, for example Wi-Fi credentials or app links on connected devices. As the end user, you are responsible for deleting such data from the old appliance before handing it in.
6. Meaning of the crossed-out wheelie bin symbol
The crossed-out wheelie bin symbol on electrical and electronic equipment means that the equipment must be collected separately from unsorted municipal waste at the end of its life.
7. Reuse and recycling
Waste equipment contains valuable raw materials but sometimes also hazardous substances. By collecting and returning it separately, you contribute to reuse, recycling and other forms of recovery of waste equipment and protect the environment and health.
8. Registration number
