Frequently asked questions
How does the unit differ from a storage water heater?
An instantaneous water heater heats water only when the tap is opened — no tank, no standby losses, no waiting for the tank to refill. Storage water heaters hold hot water in reserve (and lose ~10–15 % per day through tank losses). Instantaneous water heaters for occasional use, storage water heaters for the shower/bathroom.
How much hot water does the unit deliver?
At a 25 °C temperature rise (cold to lukewarm water), the 5 kW unit delivers approx. 2.9 L/min — enough for a kitchen sink or a hand basin in normal use. For showers, allow at least 8 kW.
What is the difference between ET and EB?
ET versions (Electronic) have a digital display and an adjustable thermostat (typically 30–60 °C). EB versions (Electronic Basic) offer the same instant heating function, but with simpler fixed-temperature or 2-stage controls — more affordable for fixed applications.
Is installation included?
Installation is not included. A qualified electrician must connect the unit to a dedicated circuit (check in advance whether your wiring can carry the load). A plumber makes the water connections.
How long is the warranty?
Bosch provides a 2-year standard manufacturer's warranty on this unit — with professional installation.
