About the brand
Gree Electric Appliances is one of the world's largest HVAC manufacturers and a major producer of air-to-water heat pumps for residential and commercial use. The Versati series is Gree's flagship heat-pump line, designed for European heating-and-cooling applications.
Air-to-water heat pumps extract ambient heat from outdoor air and transfer it to the building's heating circuit and DHW tank. In summer the cycle reverses for cooling. This is one of the most energy-efficient heating technologies available — for every 1 kWh of electricity consumed, a heat pump like the Versati III typically delivers 3–4 kWh of usable heat.
Legal Notices — Installation & F-Gas Regulation
Fluorinated greenhouse gases: This unit contains the refrigerant R-32 (GWP 675 as stated by the manufacturer — refrigerant type, charge and CO₂ equivalent in the product data sheet). Installation, maintenance and disposal must be carried out by a certified technician in accordance with EU Regulation 517/2014 (revised by Regulation (EU) 2024/573).
Self-installation: Not permitted. The hydraulic connections and DHW plumbing also require a qualified heating engineer. On request we can arrange a complete installation package (F-Gas technician + heating engineer) in your region.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this heat pump work in cold climates?
Yes. The Versati III operates down to −25 °C ambient temperature for heating, making it suitable for cold European climates. At very low temperatures the COP decreases — auxiliary backup heating may be required for the coldest weeks of the year.
How is the 185-litre hot water tank integrated?
The DHW tank is built into the indoor hydrobox unit. The heat pump heats the tank water directly via a refrigerant-to-water heat exchanger. A separate gas or electric water heater is not required.
Do I need a certified installer?
Yes — air-to-water heat pumps with fluorinated refrigerant must be installed by a certified F-Gas technician (EU Regulation 517/2014). The hydraulic connections and DHW plumbing also require a qualified heating engineer. We can arrange a complete installation package in your region.
What is the difference between EER/COP and SEER/SCOP?
EER and COP measure efficiency at nominal operating conditions (a single test point). SEER and SCOP are seasonal values — they account for typical European climate profiles across a full year, including part-load operation. For heat pumps, SEER/SCOP values are usually slightly lower than EER/COP and more representative of real-world running costs.
What warranty is included?
Standard manufacturer warranty is 24 months on the unit, provided installation is carried out by a certified F-Gas technician and qualified heating engineer. Detailed warranty conditions are in the product datasheet.
