Bosch Compress 3000 AWS
Bosch Compress 3000 AWS with a built-in electric heating element is a split air-to-water heat pump (outdoor + indoor unit) with an integrated supplementary electric heating element in the indoor unit — all-electric heating + cooling + hot water (with a separate cylinder), without a gas/oil boiler. Inverter R-32 system, class A++/A+++.
Installation & operation
Install the outdoor unit on a stable base (concrete plinth or wall bracket) with sufficient airflow. Indoor unit (split version) or hot-water connections (monobloc) by a qualified plumber/heating engineer. Electrical connection by a qualified electrician — check the amperage for each model. An F-Gas certified technician is required for refrigerant work.
About Bosch Home Comfort
Robert Bosch GmbH was founded in 1886 in Stuttgart. Bosch Home Comfort heat pumps offer proven German engineering and European reliability — designed for the EU heating transition with R-32 refrigerant and high seasonal efficiency.
Legal notice — F-Gas Regulation
Fluorinated greenhouse gases: This appliance contains the refrigerant R-32 (GWP 675 as stated by the manufacturer — refrigerant type, charge and CO₂ equivalent in the product data sheet). Installation, servicing and disposal must be carried out by a certified refrigeration technician in accordance with the F-Gas Regulation (EU) 2024/573 (which replaced Regulation (EU) 517/2014).
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference to the hybrid?
This version has a built-in supplementary electric heating element in the indoor unit — no gas/oil boiler required. All-electric system: heat pump for 90–95 % of the year, electric heating element as backup during extreme cold. Lower purchase costs than installing a separate boiler.
What house size is it suitable for?
The 16 kW Compress 3000 AWS Electric is suitable for houses up to ~220 m² — depending on insulation and climate.
Can it also cool?
Yes — heating + reversible cooling. Cooling capacity similar to heating capacity. Underfloor heating recommended for cooling.
How do I get hot water?
Combine it with a separate hot water cylinder (Bosch Tronic 6000 T or a dedicated heat pump cylinder). The heat pump heats the cylinder via the heating circuit.
Will the electric heating element drive up my electricity bill?
No — the electric heating element only steps in during extreme cold (below ~-15 °C outdoor temperature), when the heating output of the heat pump decreases. Typical annual contribution of the electric backup: <5 % of total energy. The heat pump itself runs for most of the year at COP 3–4.
