The Bosch Solar 4000 TF is used for solar domestic hot water production and (with suitable system design) for heating support. It uses solar thermal energy — not photovoltaics.
How many collectors do I need?
Rule of thumb: ~1.5–2 m² of collector area per person for domestic hot water. For heating support, size the system with a solar planner. Each Bosch Solar 4000 TF provides 2.1 m² of aperture area.
Is installation included?
Installation is not included. We recommend a qualified solar thermal installer for safe roof mounting, hydraulic connection and commissioning.
Can the collector freeze?
No — the collector circuit uses propylene glycol heat transfer fluid (Tyfocor L) and is frost-protected down to −30 °C.
How long is the warranty?
Bosch provides a 5-year manufacturer's warranty on the absorber and frame — with professional installation and use of the recommended Bosch components and heat transfer fluid.
